Great Academic Text Book

This is an incredible academic text book. Besides the obvious overflow of information that you would expect in a text book, this book provides an easy approach to understanding some very complex information. I've been reading this text book because I am enrolled in a history class at the local community college and even though I rented it for a lesser price, I plan on paying the difference so I can keep it after the semester ends. I plan to read the last fifteen chapters not covered in my current history course (only covers first fifteen and there are 30 chapters) over the summer. If you have an interest in history, this is a great place to begin reading wise.

Misinformation

This book constantly states opinions as facts and I spent a good deal of time checking information presented against internet sources. In fact we barely used this book at all in the history class I was taking. I am disappointed that the local community college chose such a poor source for our history class. I think our professor was as well, he frequently directed us to other sources because we wouldn't find necessary information in the book.The arrangement of information is particularly bad. The events of an era are often explained in chapters spaced far apart because the material is arranged by region with little consistency between the time periods covered from region to region. That wouldn't be such an issue if the index had been more inclusive.
